Time to See Reality

We can NOT defeat Hamas. For every member of Hamas killed, his brothers, children, cousins will join Hamas. Fact, during the war they recruited 15 000 new soldiers. The more we kill, the bigger Hamas becomes.  And even if we do defeat Hamas, since the basic problem of Palestinians having no future, no rights etc. continues, another national movement will be born so Hamas will reappear with another name.

No one has ever defeated a nation and if it has succeeded, it was temporary. At the first chance the oppressed take arms and fight again.

The only way to defeat Hamas is to remove the reasons for its existence: like establish a second state and see to it that it is successful, and the Palestinians have a future, so they do not need to fight anymore. There will still be religious reasons for spreading the Muslim religion and the religious zeal to remove the infidel Jews from the sacred land but with the country of their own and a future, this reason might not be as attractive for the people to continue dying for.

Ben Gvir and Smotrich, the messianic Jews, plan to move Palestinians out of Gaza and build their Jewish settlements. That will make the Palestinians on the west bank go full force for Hamas and October 7 will repeat itself. They will fear they are next to be expelled.

Ignoring a problem does not make it go away. Only aggravates it. No one but Israel can solve the Palestinian problem. Arab nations do not want to. America or the West  cannot. And the Palestinians themselves cannot solve it by themselves either. They are trying by using terror but that only makes the problem worse . The Israelis become more hostile, making more and more Palestinians homeless and Israel public opinion becomes more and more entrenched not to give the Palestinians a state which could be the solution if handled right. Not separate states because it might bring Hamas back but as a co federation where the interdependency is recognized and institutionalized.

Some Israelis tell me: “The solution will come when the Palestinians realize we are here and going nowhere so they have to accept us”.

Great. How about we, the Israelis, come to the same realization: “Peace will come when we, Israelis, realize the Palestinians are here to stay and not going anywhere either and it is time for us to learn to live together”.
